Many people feel that it is too time consuming to stay on top of their finances. What those people do not realize is that they may be losing money unnecessarily. Money may be slipping through the cracks without any awareness. Taking a proactive approach with monitoring your personal finance will help increase the bottom line of your lifestyle plan.

Here are 3 simple tips to help improve your bottom line:

  1. Pay attention to your credit report

Your credit report is a tell all story that is used by a number of entities. The report is the inside scoop of how you manage your finances. Many entities will use the report to determine if you are worthy of being approved not only for credit but also for employment opportunities or for your living arrangements. Having negative information on your report will cause you to pay higher interest rates if you are approved for credit. Paying a higher interest rate means paying higher monthly payments. If you can monitor your report and delete negative information, you will benefit by having lower monthly payments. Lower monthly payments will improve the bottom line on your lifestyle plan.

     2. Avoid overdraft fees

Letting your bank account go below a zero balance will cause overdraft fees. These fees can cost $30 to $40 for each item that attempts to go through your account. Daily tracking of your spending will help to eliminate unnecessary deductions from your account. Keeping funds in your account will improve the bottom line of your lifestyle plan.

If you are not organized and are not paying attention to due dates, you will end up paying lots of money in late fees. You can pay between $15 to $35 for each obligation that is paid after the due date. Instead of giving away money to creditors, consider putting that money in your savings. Increasing your savings will definitely help the bottom line of your lifestyle plan.
