How many times have you gone to the grocery store for just a few items and left with five times more than what you needed? If you do this every trip to the store, you will find your budget blown and no money left over at the end of the month to put towards savings. So instead of going to the store unprepared, create a list of needed items to make sure you walk out with just what is needed and not five times more.
Some people sit down to create the list just before heading to the store. Others keep a piece of paper, held by a magnet, on the refrigerator. As they go through the day or days, they will add needed items to the list. With a prepared list, you are not roaming around the store wondering if you have everything you need to prepare your meals. Also, it helps you to avoid overspending and impulse buying. Getting a handle on your overspending and impulse shopping, will help you to have more money left over, which then can be applied to your financial goals. Let’s see how much you can save this week by being prepared with having a list and avoid the urges to overspend and impulse shop on unnecessary purchases. |
