Are you looking for a key that will unlock “the secret” to having financial stability? Have you received the same advice from books, articles, social media or friends on steps to gain financial stability, but you still feel lost? How long are you going to continue searching for a different answer or searching for “the secret?” Well, the search is over. The secret is no longer a secret. You are already familiar with part of the secret. It’s time to get familiar with the other part. The first part of the secret is something you are familiar with and already have. You already have the knowledge to change your financial situation. Remember the famous phrase, “Knowledge is power.” This famous phrase implies that knowledge is a powerful factor that empowers people to achieve great results. It can also imply that the more knowledge a person gains, the more powerful he becomes. You have gained financial knowledge through many sources including Money Mindful Monday blogs from Financially Mindful. In recent blogs, you learned how to reassess and prioritize financial goals. You also learned how to create a lifestyle plan for each month as well as other important financial formulas to assess your financial stability. According to the famous phrase, the financial knowledge that you have gained so far should have allowed you to become powerful and achieve great results. So why do you still feel powerless? Why do you still have no money left over at the end of the month? Why do you feel that your debt obligations are going up instead of down? Because your financial situation feels unstable and has not changed, you believe that there is a secret or a missing piece to changing your financial stability. If you are feeling that there is a missing piece to changing your financial stability, you are correct. There is something missing. Although you have gained financial knowledge through varies sources, that is not enough. There is something missing in the famous phrase because your financial knowledge is not helping you achieve great results. You feel there is no power in your financial knowledge. So, what is missing from the famous phrase, “Knowledge is power?” In most situations, if not all situations, knowledge alone is not powerful. The missing piece to the famous phrase is action. So instead, the phrase should say, “Knowledge plus action equals power.” Or to be symmetrical to the original saying, “Knowledge is power” we can now say, “Knowledge and action are power.” It is very simple. Taking action is the key to unlock the secret to having financial stability. Instead of feeling powerless about your financial situation, consider what actions have you actually taken that will help you to become truly powerful or to become financially stable. Saying that you have a visual lifestyle plan but do not have a written plan, is not an action. Having a written lifestyle plan but do not follow it, is also not an action. Now is the time to take action and make a commitment to achieving financial stability. Commitment is defined as having a willingness to give your time and energy to something that you believe in, or a promise or firm decision to do something. If you believe in your desire to change your financial situation and to become financially stable, make a commitment. As commitment is defined, make a firm decision to do something about your financial stability. With a commitment being your first action, allow it to compel you into additional actions that are needed in your journey to achieving financial stability. Use your commitment as a path to bridge the gap between your financial knowledge and the implementation that produces great results. Do not get discouraged if you do not see instant results. You did not get in your financial situation overnight, so do not expect to get out overnight. Allow your commitment to push you to overcome discouragement and doubt. Commitment can drive you to change your negative habits into positive behavior that will match your financial goals. Let commitment make your actions toward your financial goals consistent and in time you will achieve the financial stability that you desire.
